Many memories emerge of my brother Joe whose concern for our country stands out in my mind as something he would be focusing on today. Joe cared about people and worked hard in Washington, DC to find ways to relieve their suffering through programs available. Thank you, Joe, for all you did to help others.

I was deeply saddened to read in the obituaries of Joe's death. We were classmates at Cass Twp. High. My husband and I made a trip to visit him in DC where he gave us a tour and we had dinner together. I looked forward to him coming "back home" to attend the Cass Reunions. He always had a very cheery greeting for everyone. May comfort come to his loved ones knowing that Joe was well-liked and will be missed by many.
With sympathy and fond memories,

I am so sorry to hear of Joe passing. Joe was my neighbor from across the street. I was not aware of his passing until today. I was so shocked. I use to tease Joe about golfing I would ask him if he could beat Tiger and he would just burst out laughing. I will miss you Joe. I will miss our conversations and your laughter. May your family stay strong and may you rest in peace.

Joe was a great friend with whom I was able to share an occasional drink and some KENO with. I was lucky enough to visit with him a day or two ago and share some thoughts and laughs. I met Joe through group of Capitol Hill people of wide interests who no doubt will also miss the wonderful company was to be with anywhere. His kindness, caring and goodness was not worn as a badge; he simply lived that way and we are all fortunate to have spent what time we had with him. My condolences to his family, colleagues and our mutual friends.

Joe, a true friend who enjoyed life to the fullest. I'll never forget all the golf we played and everyone was brought to their knees. Then there were the parties and dinners afterwards. Life is good and you will be missed my friend. Love you and God bless you.

I will never forget Joe's willingness to help our family. If it hadn't been for Joe I would have never been able to devote the time I did to my aging Mother ~ he would happily pick up my daughters' from school and get them to where ever they needed to go. He would have simply doneanything for us. I was so fortunate to call him my friend.
