JOSEPHINE A. PHILLIPS (Age 88)
On Monday, December 17, 2012, of Takoma Park, MD. Jo was one of three children born to Sydney and Clara (Silver) Dailey. She is survived by one sister, Lorraine O'Brien (Eugene), her children Michele Marie Downey (Charles), Diana Gayle Horrocks, and Brian Richard Phillips and son-in-law Pat Phelps. She was predeceased by her husband Dick to whom she was married for 57 years and daughter Charlene Phelps. She is also survived by seven adored grandchildren, their spouses, and six great-grandchilden. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday, from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Friday, December 21 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, New Hampshire & Larch Avenues, Takoma Park, MD, from 10 to 11 a.m., where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Rd., NE, Washington, DC 20017 or National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), Northern Virginia Chapter, P.O. So sorry to hear this, and I'm sorry we didn't learn of it until today. Jo was our neighbor and was a great person. So friendly and funny. We also remember Dick and what a great guy he was. Everyone in the neighborhood will miss Jo. Our condolences to the family...
