Larry was a classmate and friend. My wife and I were planning on meeting him in DC. Sorry we were never given the opportunity. He was also a comrade in arms and served around the same time as I. Huaa Larry, requiescat in pace.

It is remarkable that after all these years, I can still remember the wonderful experience it was to to tour D.C. with Larry at our helm. His love for the history, the community, and his job were evident in the short time we shared together.

Larry lead all four of our eight grade D.C. tours. As far as I'm concerned he was the best tour guide in the city. He took excellent care of our group and made sure we got the most out of each trips. He was more than a tour guide, he was our friend. We will miss him.

I am simply a high school freshman from Texas but I remember the wonderful times I had in Washington with my class along with him. A very dedicated man who I knew had a true heart.
I remember when he told us that he was proud that he was going to be buried in Arlington Cemetery. I'd never expected it would come so soon.
I'll visit you next time I come to Washington.

"Over the past few years, I co-led several educational hikes with Larry at Manassas and Gettysburg National Parks. And each year I learned a little more from Larry about the three historic battles that took place on those battlefields. Not only have we have lost a great teacher, but Larry was a lot of things to many people and will be missed tremendously." Gerald R. (Rob) Warren (Burke, VA)

I am very sorry for your loss.
Larry served as a well respected tour guide for several of my groups on an annual basis. He touched the lives of so many teachers and students over the years and I am grateful for the opportunity to have meet and worked with a wonderful person.

Larry and I shared many a ride in my dad's car when we were in high school. There was always a discussion as to whether Ferndale had a wrong side of the tracks. I guess that was where I lived on the southeast side.

I never knew that we shared the Viet Nam experience.

My sincere condolences to Mary. Your time together was way too short. God bless you, Charlie Smith

Larry--I respected you as a fellow tour guide, and I respected you as a fellow Vietnam veteran. I alway knew there would be a smile and a few nice words when we would encounter each other on tours. Thank you for your service to the country.

Larry was a 1964 high school graduate of Detroit's Sacred Heart Seminary, beloved by his classmates, with whom he kept in close touch. He will be missed by all his seminary brothers, including me. As a member of the seminary's Alumni Board, I worked with Larry over the past few years. On behalf of all the Board members, I offer prayers for Larry and deep condolences to his wife and other family members. He will be greatly missed.
