Memories and Condolences
for MARVIN JESSEE

Not sure what to say?

March 30, 2013

Both my wife and I extend our deepest sympathy to the Jessee family. I noticed that many who have added their condolences remember "Mabel" as a significant part of Marvin's legacy. I was fortunate to be Marvin's supervisor during a large part of Marvin's and Mabel's career. He was a person who brought laughter to our unit and was a pleasure to work with someone who had outstanding investigative abilities as well as helping all of us enjoy out job much more. You will be missed. Rest in peace and I'm confident those up above will enjoy your humor as much as we did here on earth.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Marvin, He was a wonderful man, outstanding investigator, who always had a smile on his face. I will fondly remember his sense of humor that lightened everyone's mood. I was just a rookie when I met him at the Wheaton Station and loved listening to him tell stories... He was an inspiration to all. May he rest in peace. Deirdre Sugrue Retired MCP

Marvin's family: Both Sharon and I are so saddened to hear this news. We are in Florida, otherwise, we would have come. I have great memories of Marvin Leo in "Crimes Against Persons" and his periodically pulling out Mable from his desk drawer. Marvin, you were blessed with a great investigative mind and your easy going "country boy" manner belied your real intellect. It resulted in many suspects providing confessions without even realizing it. You were a consummate gentleman and you provided me with much knowledge, guidance, and understanding in my fledgling detective years. Thanks for all the good memories, my friend. God speed.

I am so sorry I wasn't able to attend the viewing. Detective Jessee got me good as a rookie at Silver Spring, walking into roll call carrying Mabel and talking to her. I seriously thought he was some nut from off of the street. Everyone had a great laugh at my expense when he explained who he was. He was a wonderful officer with an amazing sense of humor and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. I know he will be missed. Gerri Slama Grove

Dear Uncle Leo, Like this candle your life was a light in our loves. You were laughter, and grace and all things good. I'm sorry I didn't tell you often enough how much I loved you. I'd like to think you knew. Watch out for us you left behind, say hello to those you went to meet. I know they will be so glad to have you, even though we are so sad to see you go. It gives us all something to look forward to. I will smile for you everyday.

Aunt Carol and Family. We hope you know what a pleasure Uncle Leo was to be around, no matter what he could always make you laugh. He was the most incredible comfort to all of us when our dad passed. Didn't have to be together all the time to know there was love. He will be in our hearts always and will be missed everyday.

Dear Family, Leo was pleasant and caring to many of us. He worked so diligently to keep the Class of '55 in contact with each
other . Just received a note from him on Sunday, shocked and
saddened by his death. But, I feel sure he lives today. As our grandson said about his grandfather when he left us, "I bet Grandpa is jumping up and down on the clouds". Perhaps they
are jumping together.

Carolyn, a beautiful message just for you: “And if I go, while you're still here, know that I live on, vibrating to a different measure, behind a veil you cannot see through. You will not see me, so you must have faith. I wait for the time when we can soar together again, both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to its fullest and when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart. I will be there.” We love you, sister dear, Jukie
