On Friday, January 11, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late William John Friel; mother of Lauretta Cronin, Timothy Paul (Brianne) Friel, Rose Marie (John) Reid, and Daniel (Wendy) Friel; sister of William J. Walsh, S.J.; dear cousin of Mary Louise Carter, D.J. Baker, Sheila LoCastro, Dennis Violett and Brian Violett. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and lifelong friends Edna Tyler, Gertrude Carl, and Noreen Giganti. I called Mary my Irish Fairy Godmother, after my Mother, Pat Grady passed. Her love and care surrounded me, and still does. As I live in AZ, I just tried to call and found the number disconnected.
My heart goes out to her wonderful family.
I will indeed "say an Ave" for her, as she made me promise, the next time I'm in the area. Oh Mother Merry Mary, I'll miss you so!
