On Friday, January 11, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late William John Friel; mother of Lauretta Cronin, Timothy Paul (Brianne) Friel, Rose Marie (John) Reid, and Daniel (Wendy) Friel; sister of William J. Walsh, S.J.; dear cousin of Mary Louise Carter, D.J. Baker, Sheila LoCastro, Dennis Violett and Brian Violett. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and lifelong friends Edna Tyler, Gertrude Carl, and Noreen Giganti. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, January 18, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6701 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD, on Saturday, January 19, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

I called Mary my Irish Fairy Godmother, after my Mother, Pat Grady passed. Her love and care surrounded me, and still does. As I live in AZ, I just tried to call and found the number disconnected.
My heart goes out to her wonderful family.
I will indeed "say an Ave" for her, as she made me promise, the next time I'm in the area. Oh Mother Merry Mary, I'll miss you so!
