MARY TERESA MURPHY
Mary Teresa Murphy, 78, of Silver Spring, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Born in New York City on July 14, 1934, the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Keown) and Hugh Spellman, respectively of Counties Fermanagh and Armagh, Ireland. Beloved wife of the late Timothy Murphy; sister of Joan Costello, John, Frank, Jerry, Arthur Spellman and the late Kathleen Swihura and Hugh Casey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary was a lifelong valued executive assistant at Union Labor Life Insurance Company, originally in New York City and later in Silver Spring. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, June 1 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mary, just woke up and thought about you, we lost touch around 2003, but I never forgot you. You took a little skinny Jamaican girl, underneath your wings at ULLICO. You taught me everything that I know. You made me giggle when you and Tim began dating, you both looked so lovely at your wedding. You encouraged me when i was studying, RIP my friend, you meant more to me than you will ever know, will never ever forget you.

I worked with Mary at Union Labor Life Life. She was a very nice and always had a kind word to say to me. I would go to her desk and talk with her just for a few minutes. I was sad when she and Tim retired and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family. May you keep God close in your thoughts and hearts and rely on him for comfort and strength.
