MAZELLA H. LAYTON  
On Friday, December 10, 2010, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late John B. Layton; mother of June L. Henson, Dorothy L. Herrington, and the late John T. Layton and Virginia L. Chadwick. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial service at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, on Thursday, December 16 at 12 p.m. Interment private.www.collinsfuneralhome.com

I will deeply miss my Grandmother. She was the most caring, thoughtful and sweetest person I have ever known. She would do anything for anybody...I will love her always.

I had just recently wondered about Mazella, having not seen her since my retirement as her pastor more than six years ago. A gracious lady, who suffered more than her share of physical challenges. I do not think I can attend the service, but will do so if my schedule can be cleared.
