Mrs. Kenealy: I cannot believe that 9 years have passed. I know your family sold the house and has moved. I hope they are all doing well. I walk past your old house a few times a week and I think fondly of you and your kindness. You were a treasure. My kids were so lucky to have you at Greenwood Elementary School and it was a pleasure for me to talk to you during their time there. You will always be remembered. You live on in the memories of the people that you touched. You had an impact on me and I remember.

The best part of the ride home was seeing Mrs. Kenealy and Molly gardening as I made the turn onto Vandever Street. It was hard to just wave and keep going because no matter how rough the day was, it seemed better after talking it over with Megan. Mrs. Kenealy was the "other mother" to the DeRiso boys and her passing has left a void that cannot be filled. She was a genuine person with a very big heart and we were blessed to have her as a neighbor. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My initial interactions with Megan were over the phone. I was always thrilled when I would call the office and get her because she was not only efficient, but extremely pleasant to talk to with a shining sense of humor. When we finally met in person, it was like seeing an old friend. She was one of those people who simply exuded warmth and caring. My condolences to the family.

Having grown up in Woodacres, I will always remember Megan's warm, friendly smile. And judging from the overwhelming response, she was a delight to be around. We are so sorry for the Kenealy and Leary families' loss.

Mrs Kenealy or Auntie M as I would call her worked with me at Greenwood. I always looked forward to her days working in my class with the kids. She was always telling jokes and making both me and the kids smile and laugh. It was always the highlight of day. She always went out of her way to pop her head in the room whenever she had spare time to see if I needed any help. Greenwood was a different place without her and she was truly missed.

Greenwood Elementary was sad when Mrs Kenealy transferred to another job within mcps. She was such a joy to watch as she talked with the kids and cheered them on. What a gift! We were blessed to have an angel in our midst. Thank you, Megan's family, for sharing her with us. We share your grief. Please know we pray for you all during this time. Blessings. Condolences

Megan was a dear friend to me. We worked together side by side for two years, she was my "mom" at the office. She taught me how to cross stitch, shared her love of chocolate with me and her delicious chicken salad, and loads of laughter. She was such an amazing, caring, and awesome person and I was blessed to have known her in my life. I know that she is in a better place in the company of our Lord, but I will miss her terribly and will always keep her in my heart.

My family's thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. I didn't know Megan but I know Moira and how much she loved her sister. She spoke about Megan with love and admiration and I'm sure she will be missed by all of her family. To Moira, Megan's other siblings, husband and kids, I am so very sorry for your loss. Hang on to the memories of her and she will always be there to share your good times and help you through the hard times. Take care, God bless.

Dear Megan,
I can honestly say that part of the highlight of coming to work was talking to you. Anytime I needed a laugh, or advice, something to snack on or even to get your opinion on a new song, I could always count on you. You were like my mom at work and I will never forget how caring and concerned you were. I know you are in a better place, I will always remember you, and I thank God for letting me know someone as cool as you! Love Always...

To the family of Megan Kenealy,
I did not know your beloved Megan but I have known her father Joe for many, many years. He always spoke so lovingly about Megan and all of the family. She will be greatly missed. As Catholics we have our belief in everlasting life that will carry us on through all losses. You will again see your beloved Megan but until then she will be your guardian angel watching over you from above.
With love,

Megan was a joy to talk to or just run into, whether it was at a gathering or the store. She could easily take a sad person and turn that frown upside down very quickly. Along with the glow in her eyes and smile, her sense of humor made a visit or a conversation into a memorable encounter. Even though it has been awhile, I do thank her for just being her,a friend and loving wife of a good friend God Bless Megan and her family.

Megan,
It was a pleasure knowing you and working with you. Our shared Christian values strengthened both of us every morning we met the Rocking Horse Road Center. Go well. Rest in His peace. And may the Almighty provide those you leave behind the strength to carry on.

I remember Megan as being always on the move. Caring and smiling all day for those she worked with and for. I know that she is in a happier state and looking down on us with a smile. She ran a marathon though her life and I am sure that she has earned a gold star at her new abode. For those left behind lets embrace each other with supporting love. To Megan's family I offer my prayers that they might find strength in her loving memory. She definitely was a fighter!

My kids went to Greenwood. We were blessed to have known Mrs. Kenealy. She was a caring instructional assistant. She cared about her students and she was appreciated. We missed her when she moved into a new position until we found that she lived around the corner. It was always a pleasure to bump into her and say hello. She was an angel, a very special person. She had a great sense of humor too. I recall one Halloween when she and Mrs. Nelson wore nun costumes. Her memory will be cherished. - Amy

I am saddened to have lost such a warm and caring friend. So rarely does someone have such a deep and instant bond with another, and Megan certainly extended that honor to me. May the family be kept in God's perfect peace as they mourn, and my family and I will continue to hold you all in prayer. Megan will be very missed.

Megan was an outstanding ESOL Testing Assessor with the Division of ESOL/Bilingual Programs in Montgomery County Pubic Schools. She was dedicated, always cheerful, and fully enjoyed working with students and families from all over the world. A warm, caring, and positive colleague and friend, Megan's shoes will be impossible to fill. I remain inspired by her strong faith and positive outlook on life. I close my eyes and imagine how radiant she must look as she rests safe and secure in the arms of our Lord. I extend my deepest and sincerest condolences to her family and friends. --Karen Woodon (Division of ESOL/Bilingual Programs, MCPS)

Your mom/wife was my instructional aid at Greenwood! She had such a sense if humor and was so amazing in her work with the children in my room! We were quite a team and I couldn't have done it without her in my team! I pray for peace for her family and for my dad who just recently passed to befriend her--together there are no finer angels!
