On Sunday, September 1, 2013, of Olney, MD. Beloved husband of Hazel; father of Michael W. (Trini) Roosevelt and M. Heather (Chris) Long and grandfather of Ally and Emerson. Also survived by many beloved family members. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, September 6, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Church, 2900 Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD, on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct. Oh how I miss one of my dearest friends! How could an old country southern boy find such joy and closeness to a yankee-talking kid from Jersey City? It was just to be. Hazel, I loved him like a brother and it will be a joyful reunion when I see him again.

I always felt so blessed to have the special relationship with Cousin Michael as my Godfather. My parents could not have made a better choice to have someone guide me when I needed him most. Dear Beloved Family,
Our hearts are broken because of the passing of our dear brother-in-law and uncle. Though we cannot be with you during this very difficult time, just know we are there in Spirit.
May the God of grace, peace, and understanding, comfort all of you during this sad, sad time.
Michael was a very special man, a person of integrity, and one who was respectful as well as respected. There are very few men who could emulate Michael.
We mourn with you Hazel, Michael, Trini, Heather, Chris, Ally and Emerson as well as the rest of our family, Michael's family, and friends. No one could not ask for a better brother-in-law and uncle. He will truly be missed.
May God touch all of you in a very special way knowing you will see him again.

I had the pleasure of working with your husband and father at FDA. A more honest and hard worker could not be found. I leaned on him greatly throughout his time with me.
