Mrs. Fitzgerald was my first grade teacher in 1985 and throughout my many years in school, she has always been my favorite teacher. I even brought my two daughters to meet her several years ago. I am incredibly saddened by her passing. Her memory will live on forever in my heart.

One day in Ms. Fitz's class, she gave each of us a small yarn bell. She told us that they were fragile and that we should be careful with them. I wanted to make her proud, and I was careful with my bell. As I prepare to enter my sophomore year of college, that bell remains in my room. Ms. Fitz was amazing, and I am proud to have been her student.

I was saddened to read of Nancy's passing. I remember her bubbly personality and lovely smile from our high school days at Ursuline Academy. May she now rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with all her family.

Ms. Fitz was by far the best teacher I had throughout all my years of school. She was such a nurturing & caring teacher who always made learning fun. When I decided to become a teacher I often thought back to my first grade classroom & Ms. Fitz for inspiration. She will be missed greatly but the many people that love her.

Mrs. Fitzgerald taught me how to read, how to share, and how to make a gingerbread house ... 26 years ago when I was a first grader at Wyngate. I'll never forget her infectious laugh or her warm hugs. She was my favorite teacher, and I will miss her terribly.

Undoubtedly, Nancy was a beloved teacher, not only to her students, but her colleagues as well. She was the maternal figurehead of the first and second grade hallway (if not the entire school). Nancy just had a knack for empathizing with others and then lifting them up so that the road ahead didn't seem so long. She genuinely made me feel cared for and appreciated and I always felt better about myself after talking with her. She will be sorely missed by all.
Peace and comfort be with you.
