NORMAN LANSDALE LONG, JR.
On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Rosemarie Long; father of Linda Ann and Jeremy Michael Long. Also survived by many loving family members and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Resurrection Church, 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville, MD, on Friday, November 9 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I'm so sorry to hear of Norman's passing. I was glad to see him when my Dad passed this year. I'll always remember him as a warm and friendly man, who was very devoted to family. God bless and hold this family.

May your family find comfort in these future promises of our Lord in Isaiah 35:4-6 . . .Say to those who are anxious at heart: “Be strong. Do not be afraid. Look! YOUR own God will come with vengeance itself, God even with a repayment. He himself will come and save YOU people.” At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped. At that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag does, and the tongue of the speechless one will cry out in gladness. . . .

To the faily of Norman L. Long, I very much morn your loss along with you as I had known Norman from 1963 when I first joined the "department". A finer officer/instructor and official I have never known.
His passing is a loss not only to you, his family, but to his friends and the City he so honorably served.
