OLIMPIA PEREZ-SANTIAGO Vda. de RODRIGUEZ
On Saturday, February 26, 2011, of Kensington, MD. Beloved wife of the late Carlos Manuel Rodriguez-Vilar; mother of Carlos Ramon Rodriguez-Perez, Carlos Angel Rodriguez-Perez, Maria Del Carmen Rodriguez-Perez, Hilda D. Rodriguez-Perez, and Jose Aristides Rodriguez-Perez; aunt of Jose Ramon Palacios-Perez. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 9601 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD, on Saturday, March 5 from 12 to 2 p.m., where Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Interment private. De nuestra parte solo queda reiterarles nuestras condolencias. No es facil decir adios a tan preciado y querido ser, pero al saber que ella vivirá en nuestros corazones y en nuestras mentes cada vez que la recordemos y hablemos de ella, nos reconfortará. Pido para todos nosotros resignación y aceptación y que el conocimiento de saber que se dio su encuentro esperado con nuestro señor sirva de alivio espiritual para todos nosotros, su familia. Although we cannot deny the sorrow that the loss of a loved one brings to us, we can find strength in remembering --and celebrating-- all the things that made our dearly departed a unique person.
I will always remember Doña Olimpia as a hardworking woman, as a strict but always loving matriarch, and as a great next-door neighbor to my own grandmother. I thank God for allowing me to know her and for the positive influence she had in my life during my youth.
