On Sunday, March 13, 2011, of Hyattsville, MD. Beloved husband of 56 years of Mary T. Flaherty; father of Martin (Catherine) Flaherty, Maureen (Michael) Klem, Kathleen (Steven) Hantzis, John (Kathryn) Flaherty; grandfather of Kristina, Kara, Patrick, Bridget, Karly, Colleen and Brendan. Also survived by eight siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, March 16, 2011, 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jerome's Church, 5205 43rd Avenue, Hyattsville, MD, on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Sorry for your loss. Pete was one of the best that ever came out of Ireland.I remember first meeting him in 1959. A real gentleman.We will all miss him.

Years ago, I worked with Mr.Flaherty at The Mayflower Hotel. He was beloved by both guests and employees. He always had a smile,kind words and a twinkle in his eye.
He'll be greatly missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
