A World War II Veteran on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Mirta Nieves; father of Olga (Lowell) Fisher of Dallas, TX, Iris (Joe) Nieves Campbell of Laurel, MD, Millie (Gary) Ramey of Burke, VA, Rafael "Ray" (Carolyn) of Huntingtown, MD, Jimmy (Debbie) of Herndon, VA, and Daniel (Judy) of Smithsburg, MD. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, February 20, 2011, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at Inter-Faith Chapel, 3680 South Leisure World Blvd., Silver Spring, MD on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. Entombment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. To all my cousins. I am sorry, I m not with you in this sorrow moment. I'm so proud to had an uncle like Uncle Ralph was. Each one of you have to be proud too, because he taught his moral and spiritual values, in the way he lived. Uncle Ralph was a perfect example for our whole family. Dear ones, we are only devastated that we weren't able to spend more time with him, and you, but we know Ralph is at peace in God's arms with Mirta. Both of them will live on in our hearts as exceptional, upstanding and very loving people and all his goodness will live on in the family they were always so proud of. We love you all and extend our deepest heartfelt sympathy.
