REGINA MORGAN Obituary

REGINA MARIE MORGAN (Age 70)  (nee Lanman)
On Sunday, December 23, 2012, of Bethesda, MD. Gina left peacefully surrounded then, as she had been in life, by those who loved her. Beloved daughter of the late Maurice and Evelyn Lanman; devoted sister to Lyn Williams, Maury, Chas, Tom, Bart, Mike and the late Ray Lanman; cherished mother of John Soluri, Toni Geisler and Phillip Soluri. She was a friend and guide to her daughter-in-law Alice and former son-in-law Ricky, and a passionate and loving supporter of her grandchildren Mamie, Michael, Gus and Gina. As the matriarch of the Lanman Clan she opened her heart to all, including those aforementioned as well as her 23 nephews and nieces, their spouses and children and friends. She will be sorely missed and forever remembered by the family and the many friends with whom she surrounded herself on this most wonderful journey. Much of Gina's life was spent in selfless service of others. She lovingly cared for her dear parents in their final years, and was a caring and fully engaged parent to her devoted children. Gina made herself accessible as a mother, a sister, a confidant, a consultant, and a port in the storm to her family, their spouses and her friends. Gina held herself to high standards in her work life, was respected professionally and served the public accounting industry well through her years of service at Bond Bebe, Gelman Rosenberg, and most recently Watkins Meegan. Gina's zeal for life remained strong throughout, and she accepted formidable challenges with poise and grace, right to the end. Her presence made our lives better. Her smile, the sparkle in her eyes, her warm embrace, and her undying words of encouragement will remain forever with those she knew and loved. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Mass at Holy Redeemer Church, Summit Ave and Cable Drive, Kensington, MD, on Saturday, December 29, at 11 a.m. Interment private. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

I had the pleasure of working with Gina for may years at Watkins Meegan. Gina was always happy to help and always was one of our most critical employees at deadline time. We hope that she is comfortable and in a better place now. She will be greatly missed.

My prayers and sympathies are with Lyn and the entire family of Lanmans. Lyn and I were classmates at Holy Cross. You could not find a better family. I am sad that Regina was called to heaven at such a young age. Her loss to the family is a gain to our Lord and those who went before her to heaven.

Gina and I were high school classmates at the Academy of the Holy Cross. Even waaaay back then, Gina had a great sense of humor and tremendous energy. I checked our yearbook, and Gina was the Assistant Editor of our school newspaper, the Gleaner. The nuns imposed heavy editorial approval on every word. I imagine Gina would have preferred a freer press.

As a cousin, it was always great fun to visit that lively household, and my memories of Gina and the clan make me smile during this sad time. She loved, and was loved by many, and that is the best legacy of all.

Gina and I have known each other since kindergarten, 65 years ago...I will miss her tremendously. She and her brother Maury are the reason I was able to see parts of France and Italy I never thought I'd ever see. She had the best personality...I loved being around her. A lot of her friends from Holy Cross will be sad for a long time.

Gina and her family meant such a lot to me 55-60 years ago and I've cherished Gina's friendship ever since then. It's hard to think of this world without her but an enormous consolation that we had a conversation and a good laugh the week before she left for heaven.

My heart goes out to all Gina's family and friends. She fought a brave battle and was richly blessed to have such a loving family fighting with her. Cherish the memories as she will be truly missed.
