Mr. Hocevarwas always 2 steps ahead of everyone when it came to strategic thinking and plamnning. One of his greatest accomplishments was to get agreement from both counties to build a consolidated headquarters building.

You were the first GM I worked under and the best as well because since you retired, I have worked for no fewer than 5 GMs. That is a good sampling to confirm my opening statement. Rest in Peace.

I worked closely with Mr. Hocevar before he became the General Manager. He treated me and fellow employees with great respect. He valued our opinions. He was my favorite General Manager out of the five General managers that I worked under. I have and will continue to pray for him.

I will always remember Mr. Hocevar as a warm, open, supportive General Manager whose focus was equally on the employees and our customers. He set a tone of respect and commitment for and within WSSC and made a real impact on our community.

Mr. Hocevar was my favorite General Manager at the WSSC. He truly cared about the customers, the employees, his position and duties. He was truly missed when he left the agency. I am so glad I got to speak with him this past May at the retiree's luncheon. May he rest in peace.

Notable among these was his successful effort to instill a strong sense of pride in all employees. I am proud to have worked with him and offer my sincere condolences to his family.

Dick Hocevar was not only a great GM but also a valued family friend. When my lovely mother in law was very ill, Dick would take flowers to her and take her for chemo treatments. Truly a one of a kind human being. Rest well dear man.

Mr Hocevar was one of the best if not the best General Manager that ever served WSSC. The WSSC family have lost one of it's finest. Thank God for his devotion to the employee's of WSSC and the communities.

Although I remember a conversation with Mr. Hocevar about our service in the Air Force and our tours in Vietnam, I did not know that he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. I wish to clarify for anyone who does not know that Chief Master Sergeant is the highest Air Force enlisted rank. My point is that Mr. Hocevar's character and success in his military life was just as evident as in his corporate life.
As a retired Human Resources (HR) staff member, I along with other HR staff always appreciated Mr. Hocevar's excellence; his caring spirit; and his humility when he was the Director of Maintenance and the WSSC General Manger. We will always remember him. May God continue to bless his family with never-ending peace. Bill Kay

Mr. Hocevar was the best GM ever at WSSC, a recognized leader and a down to earth man. He made our employees feel that whatever they did, they were worthwhile to him and the agency. His wonderful spirit did not go unnoticed by me or many other workers. Blessings to the Hocevar Family. Retired Employee 2000.

i never met a man quite like you Mr Hocevar. You were certainly a "workers" GM. Not only did you visit the fellas in the field but you remembered our names. If there is ONE gm that I remember in my 22 yrs here at the WSSC, it's always you....may you be at rest now. God Bless
