My Dearest Richard:

I know your parting is a mixed blessing. You are now at peace and I am glad for that. You gave me the best 33 years of my life! The good times and memories are limitless. I know you said you would be meeting Charmont, Morceau and Joie as they have been waiting for you. And that you would always be looking down to watch over me, and I believe that. I miss you so, but will always have you in my heart.

Love, Carroll

I really loved Dick; he had so many endearing aspects to his personality. He had a wonderful penchant for speaking the truth, a rarity these days. He could present a tough exterior when he wanted or needed to, and he had a sweet, caring heart to go along with it. He loved you a lot, Carroll, and the way you cared for him speaks volumes about who you are. I feel fortunate to have known him, and you, and to have seen how much you cared for one another. We should all be so fortunate to have such a treasure! Love, Maria

Richard Knight, We will miss you very much and we are so glad to have visited you and Carroll in May. You kept your chin up even though you were not feeling well and kept us laughing with your wonderful stories and how thoughtful you were with your generousity. You will be missed as these memories you have left us we will cherish forever.

I worked with Richard for many years before he retired from the court. We laughed, hugged and shared many fond memories together at my recent retirement party on July 18, 2011. I am so glad he was able to be there and that we could embrace and share our love and respect for each other. You will be missed, my friend. Your loving ways and the memories you have left all of us with live on forever.
Love, Ellen Steiger
