Molly: I have such fond memories of Rick when I worked for him in his position as Acting General Counsel of RTC. That laugh of his could be heard throughout the office. I remember him telling me that he originally went to Medical School and then changed his mind and went to Law School. He was one of a kind and I know you and Charlie miss him every day. I hope life has gotten better for the two of you.

Molly, so, so sorry to hear this news from Bob Irvin. Always think of you both when I go by your old yellow house near Cheesman Park. Will look you up the next time I'm coming to D.C.

Molly,
I am know I am late in commenting here. Rick and I were so close for so long and lost touch in recent years. He was one of the most amazing people I have the pleasure to know.

I was honored to have been friends of Rick Aboussie during my third year in Law School in Austin. He was a htoughtful, upbeat and faithful friend. I am sad not to have kept up with him, especialy since we have been living in close proximity for the last several years. His untimely death is a great loss for us all. I remember once that we all piled into the car to head to the Coupland Inn near Austin. In one of the cars in the caravan were a young lovie-dovie couple involved in teh McGoverbn campaign. Yes, it was Bill and Hilllary before they married. I remember several instances of trial and tribulation when Rick showed true strength of character. May his memory be a blessing for us all.

Rick was an inspiration to so many. He was a "big guy" in so many ways; in his presence, in his way of speaking, in his wisdom. He will be missed. Condolences to the family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel truly blessed to have been able to work for Rick for a short while, and to have known him longer. Every time I'd see him in the hall, cafeteria or anywhere -- a huge smile automatically came upon my face. A genuine real person who cared for so many - he will be greatly missed!

Molly and Charlie --
Please accept my deepest condolences about Rick. Since we first met that fateful day in Portland in 1985, I have counted myself privileged to have known him. Despite his imposing size, Rick had a gentle way with people and was always good for a smile or an encouraging word. During the times he worked in Portland and Irvine, when I saw and communicated with him most often, he inspired loyalty and commitment from his people -- they simply loved working with him. After seeing you two together at your wedding, I knew that he was beyond happy being with you. Even though he went too soon, I am gratified that you and he and Charlie had so many great years together. We had lunch just a few short months ago, and, as always, I greatly enjoyed his company and sense of humor. I will miss him greatly. I hope that the grief you are now feeling subsides soon, and is replaced by the loving memories we all have of Rick.

Rick and I shared some of our most life-fulfilling and joyous times together, during and shortly after law school. We moved together from Austin to a new life in the Pacific Northwest, which was a great adventure. He was always a kick to be with -- smart, engaging, and just plain fun. We created some great memories together. He touched me deeply. I am a better person as a result knowing him. I am honored to have been his friend.
