Beloved husband of Jean Griffis; father of Ruth Donnellan and Kimberly Valencia; step-father of Linda Willoughby and Barbara Harvey; grandfather of Brendan, Molly, Morgan and Sean Donnellan and Kayla, Daniel, Matthew and Michael Valencia and step-grandfather of seven. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, Tuesday, February 14, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m., where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment Private. My wife and knew "Rip" from AL 268 for over 34 years. He was a good friend to us. He was a great person and I never heard him say ill about anyone. His many friends loved him. He is now resting with some of his old friends from the Legion - Kenny Atchison, Skip Duarte, Joel Rosles and Joe Denny. May he rest in peace.
