I have no words to ease your loss. I always admired Bob. I, many, many times said to my wife, " I hope I can be like Bob Smaldore when I'm his age."
To make this brief " He was with it - a truly amazing guy".

The Denver family which is part of the Clinton gang were always glad to see Bob when he visited either here or in Clinton. He had such a love of music and was a great dancer the Meehan sisters use to say. (My mother and Auntie Anne)They all met on a jazz cruise many years ago. The poor guy couldn't sit down for one of them was always after him to dance. That is how I will always remember him, loved a good cocktail and great music and always knew who it was that was playing. He will be missed by us all who enjoyed his company!

Mary, Michael and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I express my sincere condolences in the passing of your Father. I know how special he was to you and how much you are going to miss him, but take comfort in knowing he is at rest and of the fond memories you shared.
Love,

"Mr. Bob" is what we called him, as our children couldn't pronounce his last name when they first met him. Mr. Bob was a kind and caring neighbor. He loved seeing the kids dressed up for Halloween. He often asked our children about school at Holy Redeemer, and always encouraged them to study hard and behave. About a year ago Mr. Bob gave them a list of the "100 Best Middle School Reads", telling them that they could certainly handle the books even though they were 6 and 8. On their own, when they heard of his death, they came up with the idea to work their way through the list this summer in Bob's honor.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob's loved ones.

Bob was a devoted and dedicated Christian. You could always rest assured that he would be at church every Sunday. Whether sitting in his regular pew, serving as Eucharistic minister, or lecture, he was always ready to lend a hand. His smile and laughter were great reminders of his quick wit and kind heart. You have been greatly rewarded with a place in heaven with your Lord and loved ones. My deepest sympathies to your family, friends and loved ones, you will be deeply missed. Rest easy friend, you deserve it.
