You probably don't know me because I did not join Alpine until 1997.
This certainly is not mine, but it has comforted many:
Our departed, whom we now remember, has entered into the peace of life eternal. He still lives on earth in the acts of goodness he has performed and in the hearts of those who cherish his memory. May the beauty of his life abide among us as a loving benediction:
May the Source of peace send peace to all who mourn, and comfort the bereaved among us. Amen.

Bob was an intelligent and gentle man. It was a joy to see his love for Jan when they danced with the Alpine Dancers and came to many events when they no longer performed. We think of him very fondly. Herbert and Carol Traxler

With deepest sympathy from all of us.
I can recall many a great time with Mr. Hampson and our families together...Bavarian folk dancing, camping in Vermont, the family reunion in Bethany Beach, DE, driving to Michigan in '84, trips that he took John, Patrick and I on to Kings Dominion and Antietem Cival War Battlefield, chauffeuring John and I to bicycle races, and of course many an afternoon tinkering with the Buick!. I'll always remember his sense of humor through it all!
Love,
Mike and the Gayowski family

It has been a pleasure knowing Bob, my son-in-law's father, for the past 15+ years. I will remember him fondly as a loving family man, a soft-spoken gentleman, and a man of high integrity.
May God Bless and comfort you.

Caring and easygoing, witty and giving, Uncle Bob made sure we all had countless good times. As a family, for as long as I can remember, you have demonstrated how great things can be when they are done right, with purpose, love, and dignity. May you somehow find peace and strength in the coming days. I know he would want that for you.

To the Hampson Family,
Our prayers and hearts go out to your family. He was a great individual and he was very happy to be around his family. I noticed that trait numerous times when we visited your cottage in Michigan and in your home town. I did notice a teacher trait in him too, because he always gave pointers to John on how to do stuff and the pointers were spot on!
We wish you the best during this difficult time and send our love & condolences.
Love; Rob, Michelle, Easton & Colson Currie.

I will remember Bob as a calm man and the most capable researcher I have known. His work at the Bureau of Standards and NIST will benefit mankind for years to come. But that aside, Bob was exceptionally dedicated to his family. From the early years through college and grand kids his devotion truly shined. We must all remember him for his service in the US Army during the Korean War, as it were men like him that allow us to live in freedom, peace and liberty. Rest in Peace, Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
