Dear Randy and Family,
I am Shirley Johnson Blackburn. The youngest of Lora and Glen Johnson's children. Fred, L.P., Annie, Ruth, and Junior are my siblings. I learned of your Mother's passing this afternoon from Flossie Johnson. Ruth has been told and I will see that Junior is also told. Ruth is limited in her language skills. However, I know Ruth is saddened by your loss. She and your mother were big buddies growing up. They made time for each other when they had the chance.
I have fond memories of your Dad and Mother coming to see us when they came to NC. My parents looked forward to their visits. My parents felt honored that your Mother and Dad would take time to come visit. It was fun sitting around the table listening as they all got caught up on each others lives. My parents were proud of how your Mom and Dad had worked hard to improve their lives and how they had the courage to make something of themselves so to speak.....getting an education and having careers.
I wish to extend to you and yours my sympathy.

Ruth was a very good friend to me and my husband Clyde in Naples, Fl. Her smile and sense of humor were all present, even when her body was "resisting". We will miss her presence in our lives.
