SELMA GOLDSTEIN O'NEILL (Age 85)
On Friday, May 13, 2011, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Raymond E. O'Neill; mother of Sharon G. O'Neill and Denise L. Pope and husband, Larry Pope; grandmother of Ashley L. Pope. She is also survived by her loving companion, Gilbert Golde. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 11 a.m. Graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. I had the privilege of meeting Selma when I worked in the Resident Life Department at Riderwood. We enjoyed a very close relationship when I managed the volunteer program and Selma was one of a valued team of volunteers who worked with me in my office. When I left 2 years ago, I regret not staying in close touch. Selma and Gil passed by my office several times a day for many years and I miss our conversations in the evening after their dinner. My condolences to your family. May Selma's life be of blessed memory. May she rest in peace. I would love to speak with her daughters whom I did meet during their visits to Riderwood.
