STELLA VELIS (Age 93)
On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late William Velis; mother of Kathryn Velis (Robert) Turan and Christine Velis (Stephen) Druhan; sister of Nicholas (Elaine) Vassos; grandmother of William Sappington, Christopher Adkins (Kalli Feldman), Alexandra Druhan (Jim) Marchesi, Julia and Maura Druhan; and great-grandmother of Anna Marchesi. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, January 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 36th St. and Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC, on Saturday, January 18, at 11:30 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister Stella. We thank you for giving her to us, her
family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
