THELMA VERONICA SIMKINS (Age 91)
On Sunday, December 5, 2010, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late John W. Simkins; devoted mother of Patricia Loomis, Nancy Runion, Susan Rose, William Simkins and the late Robert Simkins; sister of Russell Maske. Loving grandmother of 19 grandchilden and 25 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, December 13 at 11 a.m. Private interment (family only) at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Simpkins were the best of neighbors to all of us when we were growing up on Whitmoor Terrace. Our prayers are with the family, especially our childhood friends, Nancy, Sue and Billy.

To the family of Thelma V. Simkins: Please accept my sincere condolences. It does not matter the age of our loved ones, we do not want them to go. But we know that it has to be. May you be comforted by the hope found in God's Word the Bible. It promises that one day the earth will be a place free of pain, mourning and death. May these positive scriptural thoughts bring you a measure of comfort and help you to cope and endure these most difficult days.
