THEODORE LAZOPOULOS, JR. "Bubby" (Age 81)
On Friday, January 10, 2014, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband for 58 years of Betty M. Lazopoulos; father of Linda Coulter (Steve), Ted III (Cheryl) and Stevie Lazopoulos (Sandy); brother of the late Virginia Lankford and husband, Lorin; grandfather of Christopher (Bekki), Brian, Sarah, Ted IV, Chase, Shaelyn and Shamus. Also survived by a great grandson, Carson; nephew, Robby Lankford (Brenda); a niece, Lori Sorber (Jerry) and predeceased by niece, Sherry Ann and husband, Jerry; and other loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, Tuesday, January 14, 2014, 12 to 1 p.m. with Memorial Service to be held at 1 p.m. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date. PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE LAZOPOULOS' FAMILY. I WAS VERY SAD TO HEAR ABOUT TED'S PASSING.
ALTHOUGH, I AM SURE YOU MOST LIKELY DO NOT KNOW ME, I WANTED TO SHARE SOME OF MY MEMORIES OF TED. I DIDN'T KNOW HIS NICKNAME WAS BUBBY, I WISH WE KNEW THAT AT WORK.
TED HIRED ME AS A JR. ACCOUNTANT WITH IBM IN 1969 AND I WAS IN HIS ORGANIZATION UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT. TED'S GUIDANCE AND FRIENDSHIP INFLUENCED AND ENRICHED MY CAREER, I AM SURE HE DID THE SAME FOR HIS FAMILY. I AM ENDEBTED TO HIM FOR ALL THE WISDOM AND SKILLS HE SHARED WITH ME.
I CAN STILL REMEMBER HIS SON PICKING HIM UP IN AN OLDS 442, AS I KNOW TED DIDN'T LIKE TO DRIVE. I BELIEVE HE WAS A SHAREHOLDER IN THE CAR.
AGAIN, PLEASE ACCEPT MY CONDOLENCES AND MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
