THOMAS MARTIN McKENNA, JR. (Age 88)
On Sunday, July 28, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Logan McKenna; father of Christine M., Kevin E., Brian J. and Thomas M. McKenna and Mary Beth Fisher. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister and six brothers. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Church, 2900 Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD 20832 on Monday, August 5 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Dear Christine, Kevin, Mary Beth, Brian, and Tom,
I am sorry to learn of Uncle Tom's passing. I have fond memories of family gatherings and hearing your Dad's beautiful singing voice. At family events, I remember Uncle Tom as being one of the few who seemed to remain calm-- which is something this cousin found reassuring in the chaos of an old-time McKenna family gathering. I was always impressed by his intelligence and I am extremely grateful for his service in World War II. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Your Dad was a favorite Uncle; he was bright, funny, had a beautiful voice and was always nice to his nieces and nephews. You can all be proud of him and his accomplishments.
