On Thursday, September 12, 2013, of Silver Spring , MD. Beloved wife of Russell Pereira; mother of Janiere Pereira; daughter of Balthazar and Catherine Barrie; sister of Rose Barrie, Joan Bannis, Myrtle Barrie-Jemmott, Coady Barrie, Brian Barrie and Kenneth Barrie. Also survived by three uncles, five aunts, four nieces, nine nephews, numerous cousins and great friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, September 18, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Camillus Catholic Church, 1600 St. Camillus Drive, Silver Spring, MD, on Thursday, September 19 at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

We grieve with her family for her loss but we rejoice with the heavenly hosts that dear Vickie is back home with our Father. We celebrate her life which reflected the light of the love of Jesus within her soul. Lives touched by her gentle , sweet caring spirit, unconditional love.....she had the ability to make each person feel special, giving undivided attention with whomever she shared her time.
Our love for her will continue with joy filled memories, her genuine smile , her occasional patois chatter, her grace which could only have been from our Lord and Saviour , Jesus Christ.
Her name is true......she is Victorious , in Christ Jesus, the Only way, the truth and the Life. The Word of God tells us Jesus is the only mediator to access God , our Father and my beloved friend KNEW the truth and has been set free!!

Russell, Janiere,and family, I am deeply sorry for the passing of Vicki. A few days ago, I thought, I haven't heard from her in some time, not since I was sick myself last year. And I received 3 calls from our old co-workers that I did not see until late in the day Friday. I called and received the news. My heart has been very sad as we worked at Urban Institute, and she came to ALION with me. I will remember her smile and the surprise on her face that "I could dance".
