Our families were joined by many activities. Your mom was my basketball coach at St. Camillus and all of you were friends of our family. Danny and my brother Tom Aukward were close and still keep in touch. I became a coach at St. Camillus because of your mom and dad. Know they are together now. I will always remember them both.

Mr. Kolar's Birthday at My House

Mr. Kolar was truly like grandfather to me. I always enjoyed listening to his stories about working with the FBI and life in America more than 20 years before I was born. There was a span of time in which we would meet every week and discuss a range of topics from politics, current events, God, the Bible, the Church, ecumenism, history, and how not to sweat the small stuff-- I think he was a pro at that.

From my conversations with Mr. Kolar it was quite evident that he dearly loved his late wife and loved his children and grandchildren. He was a very generous and caring person who looked out for others. He was all about the "common sense of human decency." Whenever he saw me and my family he thought that his suffering was nothing compared to mine-- but I know he suffered quite a bit especially towards the end of his life. Mr. Kolar taught me that to be virtuous and kind can be a manly thing. And he taught me to laugh at myself!

How fortunate I am to have known Mr. Kolar and to have had the privilege of celebrating a few birthdays with him. I remember hearing him remark that he had a good life. I'm truly grateful that i could enjoy being a part of it. Rest in peace Mr. Kolar, I know that you will not forget any of us.

To the Kolar family, please accept my heartfelt condolences along with those of my mother, father and sister.
