If you didn't have the privilege of knowing Buddy Volkman, you missed the boat. He was special in every way you can imagine and will be sorely missed.

He was one of the "good guys". Good son, good husband and good father - we who knew him as such will miss his warm, inviting smile and great wisdom. His tales of Tenlytown and great human interest stories will be sorely missed. There will be a void in many lives where once his humor and great sensitivities reigned. God bless him for his goodness and selfless generosities to his fellow man.

He lived a full and satisfying life, surrounded by many who loved and cared about him. May you be comforted by the Father of tender mercies and the hope He provides through the scriptures.

To My Second Family: I have been priviledged to be an unofficial member of your family since 1955. The love, care and support I received from your parents and all of you had a significant impact on making me who I am today. My memories of time on Glenridge St. are still with me today, so many years later. Thanks to the Judge and Mrs. Volkman for being the kind of loving parents that all children should have.

I note with sadness the passing of Judge "Buddy" Volkman. For many years I had the pleasure of appearing before him and recall his warm smile and kindly demeanor from the bench. He was a wonderful man and dispensed justice fairly and evenly.
I am certain my opinion of Judge Volkman was shared by all of the Montgomery County Bar. Our prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Hyman Shapiro,MC Bar President 1984
