On Sunday, October 20, 2013, of Bethany Beach, DE. Beloved husband of the late Gilda DeFrank; father of William C. (Jonni) Burke, Jr., Terrence F. (Peggy) Burke, Patrick H. Burke, Ellen M. (Chip) Burns, Debra A. (John) Quattlebaum, Deirdre M. (Jerry) Hoehn, James A. Burke, and Mary C. (Jeff) Burke; survived by brother James K. Burke; grandfather of Samantha, Kevin, Karin, Danny, Mirielle, Emma, Megan, Billy, Peter, Molly, Justin, Brian, Jason, Katie, Connor, Emily, and Keith; great-grandfather of Jamie, Cara, Kynen, Lauren, Allie, Mallory, and Ella. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Historic Church, 9700 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Thursday, October 24, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Terry, Bill, Pat, Jimmy, Debbie, Ellen, DD, Mary, words cannot express the sadness I felt when I received Bill's message about your Dad. It pains me that I cannot be with you at this time. Your parents were special. I don't think I've ever been made to feel more a part of a family that wasn't my own than the way your parents made me feel. I know how hard it is now, but please try and take solace in the knowledge that your parents as people of faith are once again joined together in paridise.
