I wish I had took the good captain's advice and reenlisted in the Navy back in 1974 of April when my four year enlistment was coming to a end. It was a honor to serve under Captain Shaughnessy aboard the USS Milwaukee. I will never forget him and my time spent on the Milwaukee.

For my wonderful Uncle Bill... We love you and miss you very much. You are an inspiration and I will miss your fabulous, funny sense of humor, and your revered intelligence. I have always been in awe of your stellar career and impressive Naval Academy education. I will never forget my first trip back east with my mom and sister, Kathy to see the whole Shaughnessy clan back in 1981. You took us to the Pentagon, FBI and you tirelessly walked us all over Washington...you were hard to keep up with ! We had such a great time and I remember just laughing so much. It was an honor to be part of your and Aunt Pat's 50th Wedding Anniversary in Arlington a few years back and will never forget it. Love your niece on the "left coast", Susan (Sharp) Bondur

My Sister Clarice and I are sorry to hear of the passing of Captain Bill Shaugnessy. When we lived in Temple Hills we had the pleasure of walking with Captain Shaughnessy in the park behind his home. He was always a joy

sense of humor - we feel fortunate to
have known him and we know that he will
be greatly missed by his family and all of those who were privileged to
know him. Our sincere best wishes to all of his family and you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
