Gabriel Guzman Obituary

I've should of found this long ago and I make no excuses for my condolences being so late. The thing that many don't know though, is I think about him all the time. When on leave I brought him home to my family and he saw what Florida was like. I treated him like my honest to God brother. He was teaching me martial arts while I taught him how to be even more goofy than he was already. Standing in formation with a straight face was a lot of times hard for us when we were together. And when we suffered it wasn't so bad because you laugh even harder we you're dog tired and hurting. He had a lot of life ahead of him. While in Iraq I hated we weren't together. I needed him and I wish I was there with him to possibly have changed something. He was my battle buddy. When I first met him I was a little drawn back and wondered if he was strong enough because of his smaller build but I soon found out he was tougher than most twice his size. He was perfect and we or personal competition took us up and beyond the expectations of others. So in his memory, tonight I will light all my fireworks, cook a special meal, and have a drink to his honor. To his family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I wish I had a way to contact you or send you a letter to tell you about stories in sure you've never heard. If by chance you do read this, my email is [email protected]. I hope you continue to find the strength to cope with this tragedy. You have my love and thanks for giving me such a wonderful and great friend.

It's been 5 years since I lost you as a member of my team and not a day goes by that I don't think about your sacrifice. We are the triumphant.

Gabe was our nephew and he will be sorely missed. We are very proud of him and all his accomplishments. He comes from a great line of military tradition in our family. He is one of our heroes. :-(

I can't even find the words...I lost my 19 year old son--5 Sept 2007, Balad, Iraq. I am absolutely devastated and I know that you are too...but find comfort in the fact that we will see our loved ones, our heroes again. Do I wish that I could trade places with my son? ABSOLUTELY not. He is in the arms of our Lord--"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" ~Rev 21:4

to the family of sgt. gabriel Guzman,please accept my condolences , My nephew was kia in afghanistan2006 to this day it hurts when i read of another casualty, but it is with a certain amount of pride that i think of these men.I read somewhere a while back a saying that stuck with me"rough men stand ready in the night so that we can sleep peacefully in our beds at night" please know that i am just as proud of your son as i am my nephew

gabe was my cousin i miss him he was my hero.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
