Gary Gonterman Obituary

Gary Richard Gonterman, 78, of Sanford, Fla., died Wednesday (Oct. 12, 2011).

Mr. Gonterman was born July 23, 1933 in Quincy, the son of the late Ora and Mildred Parker Gonterman.

Gary served his country proudly with the United States Navy, a retiree of the Navy he was a Senior Chief Petty

Officer.

Mr. Gonterman preceded in death by his wife Mardell Lacey Gonterman; one brother, and two sisters.

He is survived by his children, Gary R. Gonterman II, Marga (Wes) Maxwell, Garma (John Bryan) Regan,

and Sherree Smith. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jon (Erin) Regan, Megan Regan, Kerrigan, Heidi-Lin Gonterman, Jeff Brauer, his

great-grandchildren, Lacey Smith, Aleigha, Sophia, Braxton, and Madison.

SERVICES: 6:30 p.m. Thursday memorial service with military honors at the Veterans Memorial Park in Sanford.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the American Legion Post No. 53 of Sanford.

ARRANGEMENTS: Gromkow Funeral Home and Crematory, 500 E. Airport, Sanford, Fla. 32773.

To the Gonterman Family, You are in our thoughts and prayers. I will always remember meeting Senior Chief when he came to Oklahoma for his son's initiation, he was proud and truly a pleasure. Fair, winds and following seas.
