Mary Margaret (LaRosa) Laurion, 51, a resident of Acton for the past 19 years, died peacefully at home on Sun, Aug. 22, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 28 years of Timothy M. Laurion. Born in Massena, NY., she was the loving daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Jermano) LaRosa, who reside in Winter Haven, FL. Mrs. Laurion was remembered as a very creative person, who enjoyed knitting and sewing, and regularly volunteered her time to local organizations including Danny's Place in Acton. But Mrs. Laurion most loved spending her time focused on her two daughters and their activities. With Danielle Rose, whose passion is dance, she was involved with the Acton School of Ballet and the Commonwealth Ballet Company where she was the head costumer, designing and creating costumes for the various productions. With Kate Marie, whose love is swimming, she volunteered for the Patriot Swim Club, the Acton Town Swim Team and the Girls Varsity Swim Team at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. In addition to her husband, daughters and parents, Mrs. Laurion is survived by two brothers, Michael LaRosa of North Syracuse, NY., and Steven LaRosa of St. Albans, VT; a sister, Ann Vigne of Concord, MA.; and a loving extended family. Visiting hours are Wed., Aug. 25th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington Street, Acton, beginning with the Reception Rite and Vigil Liturgy at 6:00 p.m., followed by visiting with the family until 8:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thurs., Aug. 26th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, with the burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Rd, Acton Center. A reception will follow immediately after at the Middlesex School, Concord. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to either the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK., 73123, at cancer.org; to Danny's Place, PO Box 3088, Acton, MA. 01720, also at dannys-place.org; or to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Ave. South, 17th Floor, NY., NY., 10010, at ccfa.org. Tim and Family,
I was sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I remember her well from high school. Although I was a little bit older and not on the same teams, when I saw her obituary, I immediately said "Cross country running, skiing and track & field". She was a very nice person, always upbeat with a great smile. Her time on Earth was short; but, obviously, she made a difference.

Tim and family,
I am deeply saddened by the news of Mary's passing. I have such fond memories of Mary. Not only did she always speak kindly of others; but she had the most radiant smile as well. It was as if Mary had a candle that burned from within. May that inner light continue to shine on the Laurion/LaRosa family.
Rest In Peace Mary
