Jerry McMorris

We were so sorry to hear the news that Jerry passed away. We all feel such a loss as we knew what a great man he was. We wish to express our deep sadness on Jerry's passing and know that he will be missed you and
the rest of his loving family.

Mary and family -- just heard of Jerry's passing. Mike called me on the way home from the funeral. So sorry to hear of this. Wish I could have met him.

The world just lost a great guy. Met him following the Rockies. The world could have used more guys like him. May you all find comfort in your wonderful memories of him.

I started at NW in 1984 as a Management Trainee. During the first week I was walking up the stairs in the main office as Jerry was coming down the stairs. He stopped me to talk, he knew my name and that I was from Michigan. We talked about skiing and other things. I was impressed he even knew my name. I remember a couple of night sitting in the bar with a group of Management Trainee and Jerry would come in and tell the stories of how he started the company. I enjoyed working for both Jerry and Mike .. Eleven great years?.1984--1994

I ran into Jerry in downtown Denver some years back. He had known my dad. I introduced myself, and Jerry asked about my dad. I told him that my parents were both doing good and getting ready to celebrate their anniversary. He gave me his card and told me to call his office later. He gave us (4) Rockies tickets, 1st row behind home plate. We had a wonderful time. Jerry was a fine man, and he will surely be missed.

Jerry (& Donn) were gentlemen, great teachers and friends to many - and me as a young Cummins Engine employee transferred to Denver in 1980. Well done and God Bless!

Jerry was the finest man I knew. His enthusiasm for anything in his life is was what drew people (great and not so great) to him. A fabulous, tender leader and friend to many during his life. I had the honor of getting to know him at the baseball park where we had many converstaions about differing aspects of life, including the joys and responsibilities of owning the team. He had tremendous love and respect for his family. I will miss him deeply as will countless others.

May God be with the McMorris family on the passing of Jerry!! I had the pleasure of working with Jerry at NW, and I can truly say that it was one of the greatest jobs of my life. I will never forget, having only been with the company for about a week, and attending the annual meeting in downtown Denver. I went to the meeting only knowing a very few people, and during one of the morning breaks, I remember walking down the hallway packed with people, looking for someone that I knew. All of a sudden there was an arm around my shoulder, and when I looked to see who it was, it was Jerry. He looked at me with that smile and asked "Well, Dennis, what do you think of the company so far?" Here was a man that was the owner of a large company, calling me by my first name after me only being there for about one week!! You can imagine how great that made me feel!!
