Jack, always the lynchpin for communicating with friends. He is now with Pat, and I'm sure, both rest in peace.
My wife, Edna and I express deepest sympathy to family and Jack's special friend, Audrey, who we were pleased to meet at our last high school reunion.

This is a first for me as I am kind of a computer idiot. I will miss my Uncle Jack more than anyone knows. As well as being my Uncle, he was a mentor in many ways. He taught me coin & stamp collecting, as well as fish-breeding and exploring nature. He was our family historian, carrying on the work after Aunt Pat passed. He was my go-to guy for so many things. I called him frequently, including the Monday night before he passed on Tuesday. I could write a book of the great things Aunt Pat & Uncle Jack have done for me! I am very fortunate to have had them for my Aunt & Uncle. All my love to cousin John & Diane, cousin Jeff & Randi and the daughters I will meet this weekend. See you soon. Cousin Cindy

Jack and I have been friends since we formed The Strings in our junior year at Woodrow Wilson High School. Our appearance on Ted Mack was the highlight of The Strings brief existence, but he and I remained friends throughout the years, and occasionally got together with several other classmates for a "mini-reunion". Jack took Pat's passing very hard, and I hope they are now together again.

The memories come flooding back. The picnics, the camping trips, the family gatherings with all the music filling the air.....the list goes on. It was Jack, Bruce, and Ginger teaming up with the McClure kids, Mary, Sonny, Dorothy, Patrick, and Carole. The mischief we could get into was more fun than you can imagine. Especially going up to the attic and yelling down thru the vents to the cellar (that's what they called the basement in those days!). Jack was always the ringleader. Their backyard in Cramer Hill was magical. He was always welcoming to all who came in contact with him. Now all we have are memories of a loving human being. You are now home. Rest in peace. Dot (McClure) & Chet Calhoun.

Jack was a special friend and neighbor who always had a smile and a twinkle in his eye for me. When I first moved to Seabird Island he made me feel welcome and I felt safer to have him next door because I knew he cared and was looking out for me. My favorite memory of Jack was when I was sick with the flu. He took it upon himself to go to the store and buy me Pepto Bismol and Maneschewitz wine, which, coincidentally was what my Mom and Dad gave me when I was young for my sick stomach. That was bittersweet and special to me. Seabird Island seems empty without him and his sweet little dog Casper passing by. They will both be missed and remembered fondly. Rest in peace, Handsome Jack.
