Let it light the dust that will lid great leader. You're the only politician who really liked. Eternal thy memory. Clerides 1919 - 2013

The citizens of Cyprus will always be indebted to Mr. Clerides for trying to reunify the Island. After all, isn't it the mark of a true leader to address the needs of his citizens and help them reside under peaceful conditions? We join this family in continually praying for God's Kingdom to come for His will to be done as in heaven, also upon earth. May we all soon enjoy the benefits of that Kingdom, including an end to sickness and death.

He was and always will be the only statesman cyprus ever had. I remember in 1987 i met him for the first time in a village called Pyrgos where we sat at the table he was drinking zivania and he is the one who encouraged me to study law. He was a down to earth person who dedicated hus life to cyprus and its people. Whether one agrees or not with Glafcos political views noone can ever doubt the statesmans dedication to his people. Come on for God sake he live until 94 years old dedicating 75 years fighting for cyprus. God rest your soul and my sincere condolencies to his family.

During me 18 years in Cyprus I was honored to meet president Glafcos Clerides on several formal and on private occasions. I had also close contact with his brother the late Xsanthos clerides a superb lawyer. What distinguish both, in my mind, in addition to their professional stand are their down to earth attitude and their simple way to resolve complicated issues with wit and intelligence. The twinkling of the eyes with a shy welcoming smile brought warmth and acceptance to all persons they met.
President Clerides was indeed a state man. During his rule Cyprus was on top of its glory. He will be deeply missed by all.
My you rest in peace
