NEWPORT NEWS - Horace Green, 90, died on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a ship fitter at the Newport News Shipyard where he retired after 40 years. He also served in the Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Green and Mary Coleman; and brother, Arthur Green. He is survived by family members, William Stevens, Janis Russell, and Regina "Bunny" Johnson, all of Hampton, and Eric Stevens of Portsmouth. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 1-7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service on Saturday. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
