Alan Scripture Obituary
AGE: 63 •
Alan Scripture passed away on May 9th, 2016, in Daytona Beach, FL. He was 63 years old.
Alan grew up in Hawthorne, NJ, spending summers in Green Pond. He graduated from William Paterson University in 1974. He went on to a successful career in Sales, in various industries. He married Susan Smyth in December 1983, and they resided in Green Pond for almost 30 years. Alan was an avid fisherman at Green Pond as well as annual fishing trips with his best friends. He was a master storyteller and he loved to laugh, especially at himself. He will be remembered best for his warm and inviting smile.
Alan was predeceased by his parents, Clarke W. and Doris (Comer) Scripture, and his brother, Clarke Jr. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his three children - Jessica, Ethan and Rachel, a granddaughter Addison and his sisters Judy Benfatti and Karen Van der Ploog, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alan was cremated at Dale Woodward Funeral Home, in Holly Hill, FL. Services will be privately celebrated with family and friends.
