Elizabeth C. (Taylor) Barton, of Braintree, passed away May 4, 2015. Beloved wife for over 50 years to the late Edward C. Barton. Loving mother of Edward D. Barton and his wife Cathy of Stoughton, Linda C. Barton of Braintree, Christopher J. Barton and his wife Sarah of Braintree and Holly B. Barton of Braintree. She is also lovingly survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. For several years, Elizabeth was a member as well as former president of the Braintree Gardeners Guild. She also worked as an insurance adjuster for Blue Cross Blue Shield prior to her retirement. Throughout many years, Elizabeth was very active as a player and coach for the Braintree Softball League as well as being a member of several bowling leagues. She was very artistic and loved ceramics, painting and cross-stitch. Elizabeth also had a profound love of flowers and had a unique talent for assembling beautiful floral arrangements. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4 - 8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth, at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Braintree Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeths memory to the Marge Crispin Social Service Center, 74 Pond Street, Braintree, MA 02184. Linda, Chris, Eddie and Holly, I was so sad to learn of your mom's passing. For most of my childhood she was my second mother. You were blessed to have a funny and good natured mom who was always willing to laugh at, and with, us kids. God bless Betty and my thoughts and heart are with you all.
