Johnson, Henry Biddle CHULA VISTA -- Navy retired Commander Henry Biddle Johnson of Chula Vista, California, died June 4, 2013 at the age of 87 years old. Henry was born August 25, 1925 in Portland, Oregon and grew up in Salem, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jeanne Marie Myers Johnson, in 2000. Henry leaves behind his current wife, Suzanne Hill Imhaus and children, Deborah, Gail, Peter and Margaret along with 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His 27 year Naval career began at Annapolis Naval Academy, class of 1948 B. During his stellar career he served as a Submarine Commander, was posted on both US coasts and the family lived overseas. Post Naval retirement, Henry became a teacher in the Sweetwater Union High School District. Henry lived each day to its fullest and laughter was a well known expression seen on his face. He will forever have permanent ties to the trail up Beacon Rock, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. His upcoming services are: Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery Military interment on July 11, 2013 at 11:00 and a Memorial Service on July 13, 2013 at 10:00 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 497 E Street, Chula Vista, California. We were childhood neighbors of yours . Debbie was my first best friend . I lost my Dad last year . I am so sorry .
