Dear Gloria;
Sincere condolences on your loss. I remember Forest well from his time in service. For a year, he was my bombardier, my roommate, my crew mate, my friend, and we flew combat together. This experience formed an unbreakable lifetime bond. I regret that we did not maintain better touch after the war.
Forest was the only married man on my crew. I remember once, in Italy, we lived in a tent and slept on narrow cots in snug mummy sleeping bags. Someone asked Forest if he would have been able to accommodate you in his snug mummy bag. "You Betcha!" was his reply.
You were fortunate to have had him this long. My best wishes to you.
