I remember Gil from over 32 years ago when he used to come into my work selling antennas and stereos.. He always had that great laugh and such a positive attitude... He knew me as a Kid just out of high school and I was so fortunate to still see him when he came in to get his services done on his Honda all those years after. He would come in and check on how my my life was going and tell me about his. Always such a treat to carry on those conversations!. You will truely be missed Gil.
I met Gil when I took him to Eagle's Wings, a support group for military widows/widowers. He was friendly and enjoyed being around people and certainly loved being a Marine! His knowledge of California History was amazing. Even though I had not seen him for over a year he will be missed. He was truly a gentleman.
Gil was one of the original docents at the MCRD Museum. He taught the new recruits Marine Corps history with the passion of the great Marine he was. He was one of the finest volunteers the Museum has had, and he will be missed. Semper Fi Gil
I will always remember Gil for warmly welcoming me every time that I came to the MCRD MHS offices! The friedship that developed is eternal and the advise that Gil shared with me was of enormous help! A first class gentleman and a doer!!!! Bravo Zulu Gil Allan Rappoport, Past President MHS
