My condolence to Skips wife and family. I was a classmate with Skip at Herbert Hoover High Class 1958 of a different time and era. As oweners of 1940 Fords we loved our cars. We teamed up during gym class to play againts Don Vesco, Larry Elliot. Skip received from his friends what he gave, that was respect which was one of his many attributes.

Skip remains close in our hearts too.
We will never forget his kindness and generosity. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family. May memories of the happy times he shared with us bring comfort.

Skip and I shared a lot of good memories, including four wheel drive trips to Baja that were great for the kids when they were little, and once with his dad and my dad. It's hard to believe someone as vital and active, and fun, could go so prematurely. I miss him, but at least he and Dottie and all of us here in Alabama were able to be together for a few days, and share some good times again.

I miss you, Dad. Thanks for the being the Dad I want to be.

Your son,
Ollie

Jerry and I were so surprised to hear of Skip's passing. I remember when Skip coached LaCrosse at Granite Hills, I also worked with Michelle at the Work Training Center. Jerry has good memories of growing up with Skip in Talmadge Park. Our prayers are with you and your family. Janet & Jerry Harris.

Dear Dot,
I just heard of your terrible loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Our daughter, Stephanie, was close friends all through high school and beyond with your son, Ollie, and even though I didn't know Skip well, I was impressed by his aura of patience, love and caring. Please, accept my deepest sympathy.

Dear Dottie: sorry to hear about Skip. I worked with him at INA back in the 70s. Just like his cars, he was also devoted to his claims adjuster position.

Dear Dottie, Ollie, Mike, and Michelle,
We were so saddened to hear of Skip's passing. Our sons became friends on the SSU Lacrosse team and we fondly remember spending time together as we cheered the team on. Skip was so warm and kind and he loved his family very much. Our long trips to California were made so much richer because we knew Skip and Dottie would be one of the main highlights of the weekend.

Our hearts are with you all.

Warmest wishes, kindest thoughts

We have been Skip's neighbors in the "other red house" across the street. I am so sad to hear of his passing. My husband just began to catch up (even though we all know he would never make it) by buying hundreds of Christmas lights to compete with Skip's fantasy decorating job at Christmas. He will be sorely missed. We will miss watching him tinkering around the yard- it was a thing of beauty.

Dear Dottie and Family,

All of the guys in the V-8 Club will truly miss seeing Skip at our Tuesday Morning breakfasts and will miss seeing him driving his '40 Ford.
He was called home way to soon for us who knew him as a friend.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Skip. He was one of the characters that impressed me so much to become an SAE at San Diego State. Many fond memories. Phi Alpha, Don Tineo

Skip and the Fritz family lived just 3 houses up from my parents house. I spent a lot of time with them in my high school years. I babysat the kids, while they went to the football games at SDSU! Skip and Dottie gave me my first job at The Petal Peddler selling flowers. I have fond memories of Skip and Michelle going walking together. I am soooo sorry to hear about his death. I will be praying for your family.

The Fritz's have been our close neighbors for the last 21 years and we have shared many holidays together. A few stand out more than others, like the Christmas when the family would have to drive to our house which was just two houses up from theirs, so their dog, Katie, wouldn't follow (but somehow she always would find them). Plus "Santa Skip" would show up at the door dressed as the jolly, old elf himself! Fourth of July's at the Fritz's would be the "PLACE" to be for barbacue burgers and to watch the fireworks from their roof. Our kids have many childhood memories growing up with their kids. Our daughter Kara is still close to Michelle and thanks to Skip our son Derek received a letter in highschool playing LaCrosse. Our hearts will always remember our kind and thoughful neighbor. We will miss seeing him around town driving his "40" and working in his yard, waving to us as we drove by. God Bless his family and may all their memories together help to comfort them with this sudden loss.
With our Deepest Sympathy,
Doug and Michelle Shinebarger

I was a fraternity brother of Skip in SAE. In his Obituary, his hitchhiking to SAE Leadership School is mentioned. Skip and I hitchhiked home from Chicago to San Diego. What a adventure ! 35 years later, I was appointed as a Federal Judge. What wonderful memories.

I met Skip at Hoover in 1956.
We both ,being athletes had much in common.
I remenber Skip having a great sence of humor and i probably saw him a lot at Don's Drive at 54th and El Cajon in his great Fords.
I remember taking one of his girl friends to a Basketball game at the Hoover gym at his request to watch him play.

Skip and I went through Horace Mann Junior High School and Hebert Hoover High School together. We had many a good time playing basketball at school and at the Muni Gym. I consider Skip one of my best friends while going through school. He will be greatly missed as a friend and a good human being. My sympathy goes out to his family.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Skip. In my mind I will always picture him at the No-show campout setting up his tent for him and his daughter.

To Marcia, Dottie and Family

I am so so sorry to hear of losing Skip. I can still remember him sitting behind me in 8th grade at Horace Mann. A good man!
Your many memories will help you through this time. God Bless You.
