I live in San Diego and Mr. Sanford's obit caught my eye, as I am from Mansfield Ohio too. Upon checking with my Mother (now 96 yrs), believe Mr. Sanford's Father, Henry, worked closely with my Dad at Empire Reeves Steel Corp for many years. My Dad always said the nicest things about Henry - and if your Hank was anything like his Dad, then he must have been quite a great man. My sincerest condolences to you all.

Hank filled my heart with song......his magnificent presence and loving ways will live within in me, inspire me and sustain me for all of my days. He lived every day of his life to the absolute fullest....always thinking of others....always caring...
Martha, Allen and Kenny will have my infinite devotion....Hank would want it this way....

Uncle Mac was a gracious and kind person. I love that he played the ukulele and organized others to play it together. He cared deeply about the future of our country and generations to come. We exchanged some good letters. Most of all, I remember that he stopped to see me when he came to Minnesota. He reminded me so much of my father and much like my Dad, he had a good sense of humor. My cousins and Aunt Martha are in the forefront of my mind since I am certain that they will miss him so much! Sending all my love, Linda Sanford Wirt

To Hank's wife Martha and to her family I extend my heartfelt sympathy. My brother, Hank, lived a life that was full of love, joy and service to those who knew him well. For me he has always been an inspiration. His remarkable life will affect me in the future as it has in the past. Inspired by the fine ideals for which he stood, my life and love will be directed toward his wife, Martha, and their family forever.
