Daniel HAMILTON Obituary
1942 - 2016
We regret to announce the passing of Daniel Roy "Dapper Dan" Hamilton, who passed with family at his side just after his 74th birthday. Daniel was born and grew up in Kenora, Ontario, where he went to school and then worked for the CPR. After Dan married Pauline Tunski in Winnipeg in 1964, they moved between different cities in Canada, finally settling in Delta, British Columbia in 1976, where they remained. Dan's sales career started with Simpson Sears. He then became sales manager for Dymo, then started Daro Agencies with Bob Novosell. He retired in 2008. Dan's active sports included curling, golf, and fishing. He also served as coach and commissioner with Delta Minor Baseball, helped with the Beach Grove Amateur (Beach Grove Golf Club), and was involved in the Standardbred Horse Racing at Colversale Raceway/Fraser Downs. Dan loved following all sports, especially baseball, football, and golf. His other passions included travel, reading, and investing. Dan is survived by loving wife, Paulie; sons, Jeff (Maria) and Rick (Shannon); grandchildren, Jessica, Joelle, and Anthony; brother, Bill (Cindy); sister, Loretta; brother-in-law, Tom; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff members from the Delta and Royal Columbian Hospitals as well as the RCH Cardiac Clinic. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Delta Hospital Foundation. Dan was a big personality, had a big heart and lived a big life. We will miss you, Dan. A Celebration of Life will be held at Beach Grove Golf Club on December 8 from 2 - 4 p.m.

I was sadden to hear about Dan's passing and we send our thoughts and sympathies to Paulie and family.
I reflected on our times with Dan in the office products business and it brought on a number of special memories of the great fun and laughter we had. The many Italian lunches and dinners were always enjoyable....trips to conventions very often included Dan and his sense of humour.
Listening to him deal with Julie and Marilyn in our purchasing department was never dull.
His electric personality was evident in the way he dealt with all his fellow industry members.
We would have liked to have him here longer but he did leave his mark on all who knew him.

I met Dan on several occasions while he was holding court down at the the old Tsawwassen Golf course lounge. I met him through my Montreal pal Kelly Taillon. Dan immediately took great interest in the people he met. It seems like everyone had a nickname for Dan. For me, I quickly tagged him Jackie Gleason!! My sympathies to all Dan's family and friends.

Had the pleasure of knowing Dan and Paulie for the better part of 20 years both business wise and personally. Will never forget Dano on his game at the annual Thunderbird Office Products shows. Dan was a terrific person. We worked together for many years when Daro represented Avery Dennison. Everyone at Avery that knew Dan will have Paulie and her family in our hearts and thoughts. We will miss you "Parts".
