PORTER, ME - Charles P. Wilkins III, "Chuck", 71, of Porter died at his home on February 29, 2016 unexpectedly in his sleep. He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on October 24, 1944 a son of Charles Wilkins Jr. and Aurise (Remillard) Wilkins. He attended Central Falls, RI. schools and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He married Claire Desautels on April 23, 1966.
Chuck worked for Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham, Mass for several years, and then for Tech Industries in Woonsocket for several more. He later worked for many years at New England Instrument in Woonsocket.
He had been a Cubmaster of Pack 8 which he started at Precious Blood Church in Rhode Island in his younger years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and going to yard sales. He fulfilled his lifelong dream to live in the country and own his home after moving to Maine in 1990. Above all he loved spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank Wilkins.
Surviving are his wife, Claire Wilkins of Porter. A daughter, Gail True and husband Michael of Peru, ME. A son, Charles P. Wilkins IV and wife Lisa of Peru. Two sisters, Sister Gloria Wilkins of PA., and Barbara Lambert of Blackstone, Mass. 6 grandchildren: Brianna Belmore, Amy Wilkins, Cara Wilkins, Charles Wilkins V, Jacob True and Lily True. Also 4 great grandchildren: Jasper Ruiz, Christopher Wilkins, Ava Andrea and Samuel Regan.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday March 5th at 12 noon with a reception from 12:30 to 4 at the Par X club, 36 Stanley ave, Woonsocket RI.
