Jim and I met at Trinity Lutheran Church in high school where our parents were faithful members. Jim and I were mischievous buddies and somehow seemed to avoid getting into serious trouble. Our daring deeds carried on into our college years and beyond so we shared many memories of wild times. Jim was really good about staying in touch with his friends from those years all of his life, loving to reflect on those wild and crazy days.

I met Jim and Colleen when they shopped at the store where I work. Jim had a dry wit and a terrific sense of humor. He was brave in the midst of health struggles.
He worked to take good care of the planet Earth by shunning plastic bags. I will miss him very much.
