Arctic Art,
I thought of you and your family all day today. I wish I could have been up there in KOTZ to honor you and visit with your loved ones. Sitting with you on the end of the Eli "bench strip" hearing your stories and shooting your .22 derringer, smelling your cigar in the back of the Super Cub, enjoying your caribou tongue soup at the Noatak bear camp, and listening to you talk about professional wrestling at your house are all memories that I hold dear and that will never fade for me.
Although some of those memories are now 30 years old, your image is bigger than ever!!! Thank you for the good times in KOTZ!!!
Thank you to your family for sharing you with those of us who were lucky enough to cross paths with you. Condolences to all who's lights were dimmed a little with your passing.

A friend,
Todd Johnson

Oh Tada. Thanks for being the absolute best grandfather a grandkid can ask for. You will always be my favorite pilot. I remember he was asked why his grandkids called him Taata and why we didn't call our Grandma "Aana." He answered, "I'm half Inupiaq and half white. That makes my grandkids half Inupiaq too. That's why I'm Tada and Marie is Grandma."

An amazing character, intersting story teller, and honorable grandpa-inlaw. You will be greatly missed. I'd like to think your up there with Marie and her sister--my grandma Marian and your close friend and partner in aviation Frank. Lots of love to all the family.
